Former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla scored as Real Oviedo beat Mirandes in the second leg of their Segunda Division play-off final and secured promotion to La Liga for the first time in 24 years.

Mirandes won the first leg 1-0 before playing the second leg just 16 minutes in and taking the lead through Panichelli to make it 2-0 on aggregate.

Cazorla scored Real Oviedo’s winner in their semi-final play-off against Almeria, coming off the bench to curl in a free-kick in a 3-2 aggregate win.
The 40-year-old was a product of Real Oviedo’s academy before leaving the club in 2003 after financial problems crippled the club’s youth system and saw the first team relegated to the third tier.
The two-time European champion with Spain spent six years at Arsenal, making 180 appearances before leaving the Gunners in 2018.
Cazorla suffered a serious Achilles injury in October 2016 and underwent 11 operations.
